After Weight Loss Surgery

Losing a significant amount of weight is a major accomplishment. While the weight loss removes the fat – whether it be from bariatric surgery or a consistent diet and exercise program – many times the skin does not adequately tighten during the weight loss process. After accomplishing massive weight loss, many of these people are left with sagging loose skin to contend with which is uncomfortable, difficult when dressing and can create hygiene issues.

In order to help these patients achieve the dream body they expected after losing the weight, Dr. Constantine works with them to discuss expectations then provide information about what can be offered through surgery. Based on the patient’s anatomy and desired outcome, many different procedures that can help correct post-weight loss issues. These include tummy tucks (abdominoplasty) to remove excess skin and tissue, breast lift and reduction surgery to eliminate sagging or volume loss, face and necklifts, upper arm-lifts (brachioplasty) or thigh and butt lifts to remove excess or sagging skin. After surgery, folds, rolls, and excess skin are removed and their body becomes tighter, smoother, and slimmer.
